MUSICAL SUCCESS!!

A big thank you to everyone who helped with our musical "Princess Whatsername!"   Both nights of the show were great and the kids did a wonderful job.  All the proceeds from the show are going to support related arts at Gene Brown.

We raised over $2,200!!

NEWSLETTER
Parents and Students,
I can’t believe Thanksgiving Break is just two weeks away!!  With only 11 rehearsals left until our first performance, it is time to get serious about LEARNING LINES!!  We are continuing to practice on stage each day so it is VERY IMPORTANT that all students know their lines and that includes song lyrics.
  Here are a few reminders:

  •  Parents…Please help your children with their lines and make sure they know them on rehearsal days.  It is hard to work on placement and acting if the students don’t know their lines.  (This continues to be an issueL)
  •   I have started a “Wall of Fame” outside the music room to reward students who SHINE during rehearsal by knowing lines and really getting into character.  After the musical, all students who made it on the wall of fame will get a special pizza party!!

  •  Our remaining rehearsals are as follows November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, and 24.  Also, December 1, 2, 3, and 4.
  •  All of the December rehearsals will be costume rehearsals, which means students will wear costumes for practice.  The FRIDAY NIGHT dress rehearsal will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  I will send home more details about that closer to time.
  •  Performance dates are December 7th and 8th at 6:30.
  •  I emailed dwarf parents with details for your costumes.  If you did not receive that, here are the details:

o    All the dwarves (except Anna Morgan) will need a tee shirt that is a little too big for them.  Ana, please bring in a white 100% cotton shirt as soon as you can, so I can have it tie dyed.   Here is the shirt color assignments:    *Anna (Tie Dyed) *Madison S. (Red) *Mattie M (Yellow) *Caden (Green) *Gracie (Blue) *Ava (Pink) * Alyssa (Purple)
o   Also, all girls are responsible for getting a tutu.  I am leaving the color up to you.  Just make sure it is not the same color as your shirt.  They will need shorts for underneath that are close to, or touch the knee.  Finally, knee socks in whatever color or pattern you want.  If you go to Amazon.com and type in "cheap tutus" there are options.  Also, Hobby Lobby has quite a few tee shirts for about $4.00.  We will provide the dwarf cap, and belt.
o   Doesn’t matter what kind of shoe you wear!

  • Bears Costumes:  If you are a bear you will need a flannel button down and jeans.  We will provide the bear ears.

Thank you all so much for your patience and your support.  Don’t forget to practice, practice, practice!!! J

Rehearsal Schedule Change

MUSICAL CAST:
  • I am so proud of all of your hard work on Thursday as we were putting our opening number together!  It looks and sounds so good and I can't wait to start "Flashing Back Again"!!
  • Because we spent so much time on "Princess Whatsername Prologue" on Thursday we didn't get to a Scene 6 and 7, we will start out with those on stage tomorrow and go from there!!
  • The majority of you SHOULD have lines and lyrics memorized !  Please be prepared to start practicing with NO SCRIPTS starting next week!!
  • PLEASE REMEMBER TO LET MRS. JUECHTER KNOW BY NOVEMBER 6TH IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GET YOUR OWN COSTUME SO WE CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.
  • A big thank you to the theater department at Station Camp High School for donating some great things for our stage!!
  • Stay tuned for pictures and video from our rehearsals and information about musical cast tee shirts....
