4.      Students may only audition one time.
5.      Performances should be 2-4 minutes long.

8.      You must return the “Talent Show Application” signed by your parent before you are assigned an audition date.
9.       There will be NO rescheduling of auditions.  The only exception is if you are not at school because of sickness with an excuse.
10. If you decide not to audition, PLEASE let Mrs. Juechter know as soon as possible so that you can be taken off the list.  It is very disrespectful to just “NOT SHOW UP” to an audition!!!
11. It is your responsibility to prepare for your audition on your own time.  Mrs. Juechter would be glad to help with acts if time allows.  Please see her for more info.

Song Performance Guidelines:

·        Song choices must be appropriate.
·        If you are singing a song you must have a recording without the lead vocals.  (Karaoke CD)  You may not sing with a recording that has a person singing with you.  You must audition with the accompaniment track or with a live accompanist.  Please have all your materials ready!
·        You may also have someone accompany you on piano, guitar, or another instrument.  The person who is accompanying you can be anyone
·        You must sing the song in the audition that you are planning to perform in the Talent Show.  You cannot audition with one song and then change it for the Talent.

Dance Performance

·        Your song and dance must be APPROPRIATE!  No songs with explicit lyrics and no vulgar dance moves.  You may do a hip-hop routine, but please keep it tasteful.
·        Please have your song approved by Mrs. Juechter before your audition.
·        If you have a question as to whether your dance is appropriate, please schedule a time with Mrs. Juechter to show her the dance before your audition date.
·        Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Modern dance are welcome!

WHAT A PERFORMANCE!

On March 20, Rock and Roll found its way back to Gene W Brown Elementary.  Directed by our music teacher, Crystal Juechter, the third and fourth grade students presented the program Rock and Roll Forever: How it all Began.  The students sang songs from the 50s and 60s, including favorites by the Beach Boys, "Surfing USA" and The Beetles, "I Want to Hold Your Hand."   Dressed in their 50s and 60s attire, the students rocked it out with "Tutti Frutti", while the audience sang and clapped along! Elvis and Little Richard even made an appearance, along with the star of the Ed Sullivan Show!  The students received a standing ovation for their enthusiastic and authentic performance of these classic hits!
